The weather was great, as were the wines. Dinner from Willi’s Wine Bar of Moroccan Style Lamb Chops seemed to be a hit with all. After correcting for one person voting twice, there was close to a 3-way tie: the 2018 Chappellet Napa Valley Merlot and the 2019 Pride Mountain Napa-Sonoma Counties Merlot tied for first place. The Chappellet wine was judged the winner with 3 first place vs. only 2 for the Pride Mountain Vineyards wine. The Hourglass “Blueline Estate” was a close third place. All three were blends with the Chappellet and Hourglass being Bordeaux blends.
