Thanks to Rick Taylor for picking this fine selection of Red Burgundy from the 2015 and 2016 vintages, and thanks also to the Gibson’s for once again opening up their house for a tasting.
There were 21 tasters in all, and despite the similar vintages, there were enough differences in the wines for people to have a variety of preferences. However, only 4 points separated the top 3 wines. The #1 wine was the 2016 Maison Joseph Drouhin Chambolle Musigny ($70), followed by the 2015 Domaine Jean-Marc & Hughes Pavelot Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er Cru “Peuillets” ($50) and then the 2016 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges Vieilles Vignes ($80).
