The September Brunello tasting was another successful virtual tasting. Brunello di Montalcino is 100% Sangiovese from the Village of Montalcino which is near Chianti. Steve Smith provided a presentation that is available for viewing:

It is interesting to note that the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place wines are within a span of 5 points which makes the difference between them statistically insignificant, it is essentially a tie for 1st place. However, both the 1st and 2nd place wines received significantly more 1st place votes than the 3rd place wine (Bottle #4: Nine 1st’s, Bottle #1: Seven 1st’s, Bottle #2: Three 1st’s).
