Sept 16: Rosé, Danville

A wonderful tasting of a variety of rosés was held at the Felton’s home in Danville.  Picture perfect weather allowed us to have the tasting and a delicious meal on the back deck until well after dark.  Eleven members were in attendance along with 1 preferred member and 7 guests.  The rosés selected came from a variety of grapes so the colors varied significantly as can be seen in the photo below.

The winning wine was the Kim Crawford 2016 New Zealand Rosé made of 100% Merlot for a bargain price $17.99.  The Felton’s own 2016 Grenache Rosé finished in a respectable 4th place!

TASTING ANNOUNCEMENT

Al Fresco Rosé Tasting and Dinner
Saturday, September 16, 2017
5 pm- so al fresco dining is perfect

Hosted by Jim and Bette Felton

We will taste eight Rosés, from different grapes and from all over the world.  We will challenge you to discern the country of origin and the varietal used in the Rosés.  Pre-tasting wines will be three pink champagnes. Tasting and dinner will be outside, and there is room for 30 participants.   Please feel free to invite guests.  Catered dinner, served family style at 6:30, will include Tuscan chicken, three salads, and vegetarian options. We will be in the garden and vineyard, so bring wine glasses, layers, and comfortable shoes.  You are also welcome to come early for tour/work in the winery, or just hanging out at the pool.
